UAE Residence Visas
A UAE residence visa gives you the stability to live and work in the Emirates, open personal bank accounts, obtain an Emirates ID and driving licence, enrol children in school and sponsor your family.
Trilliant Business Services manages the entire residency lifecycle, not just the initial application. Entry permits, status changes, medicals, Emirates ID, stamping, dependant sponsorship and renewals are all handled by the same team that set up your company.
Which Visa Is Right for You?
The UAE offers several residency routes. The right one depends on your capital, your structure and your long-term plans.
Investor and Partner Visa
The standard route for entrepreneurs. You secure residency by owning a UAE company, which means your trade licence is your qualification rather than a large locked-up deposit.
- For shareholders in a mainland or free zone company.
- No requirement to lock up AED 2 million.
- Grants authority to sign leases and manage operations.
- Renewable, typically on a two-year cycle.
Employment Visa
Sponsored by your employer, whether that is your own company or a third party. Requires a registered labour contract and an available quota slot.
- Sponsored by a licensed UAE entity.
- Requires a registered employment contract.
- Includes Emirates ID and medical insurance.
- Allows sponsorship of dependants subject to salary.
Golden Visa
A ten-year renewable residence permit for qualifying investors, entrepreneurs, specialised talent, executives and outstanding students. No local sponsor is required.
- Ten years, renewable, with no employer sponsor.
- Property route requires AED 2 million or more in value.
- Also available via capital investment or company capital.
- Sponsor spouse, children and parents.
Green Visa
A five-year self-sponsored residence permit for skilled professionals, freelancers and investors who want independence from an employer sponsor.
- Five years, self-sponsored.
- Open to skilled professionals and freelancers.
- No employer or company sponsor required.
- Extended grace period after expiry.
Family Sponsorship
Once you hold residency, you can sponsor your spouse, children and in certain cases your parents, subject to salary thresholds and suitable accommodation.
- Sponsor spouse and children.
- Parent sponsorship subject to higher thresholds.
- Requires registered tenancy contract.
- Medical insurance mandatory for each dependant.
Retirement Visa
A five-year renewable permit for residents aged fifty-five and over who meet the property, savings or income requirements.

Residence Visa FAQs
Usually two to four weeks from entry permit through to Emirates ID delivery, provided the medical and biometric appointments are attended without delay.
Standard investor and employment visas are typically issued for two years. Green Visas run for five years and Golden Visas for ten, both renewable.
The property route requires UAE real estate valued at AED 2 million or more, which can be met with a single property or a combined portfolio. Mortgaged and, in defined circumstances, off-plan properties can qualify subject to a valuation certificate and a bank no-objection letter. Requirements are periodically updated, so we confirm current criteria at the time of application.
Standard residence visas lapse if you remain outside the UAE for more than six consecutive months, though Golden and Green Visa holders benefit from more generous absence rules.
Yes. Health insurance is a legal requirement for residents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and must be in place before the visa is issued. Employers are responsible for covering employees.
Yes, subject to a higher salary threshold, suitable accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and, in some cases, a refundable deposit. Approval is assessed case by case.
